Global Civility Awareness Month was inspired by Dr. P. M. Forni, a professor specializing in civility at Johns Hopkins University and Author of "Choosing Civility: The 25 Rules of Considerate Conduct".
He and members of the Association of Image Consultants International (AICI) initiated the project in 2009 and secured it as an ongoing global activity on Chase's Calendar of Events.
Since then, businesses, communities and organizations around the globe have recognized the month of May as "Civility Awareness Month".
